Founded in 1772, the Veuve Clicquot House has since lived by its motto, "Only one quality, the finest". "Yellow Label" is its signature champagne, the symbol of the House's art of blending, defining the Veuve Clicquot style through a perfect balance of strength, aromatic intensity, freshness & silkiness. The predominance of Pinot Noir provides the structure that is so typically Clicquot, while a touch of Meunier rounds out the blend. Chardonnay adds the elegance and finesse. Grapes from as many as 50 to 60 different Crus go to the blending of Yellow Label. Traditionally, the proportion of each grape variety used is 50 to 55% Pinot Noir, 15 to 20% Meunier and 28 to 33% Chardonnay. Then, to achieve, year on year, the consistency that makes Yellow Label so immediately recognizable, Cellar Master will draw on priceless reserve wines for the blend (from 30 to 45%).

In 1811, six years after Madame Clicquot took the reins, a celestial comet graced the skies of Champagne, and it was credited with an exceptional harvest. Three years later, Madame Clicquot paid tribute to this wonder by stamping the comet on her corks as a symbol of prosperity. The comet remains a Veuve Clicquot legend, and speaks to our House’s exceptional destiny and prosperity, which continue today.

On the nose: yellow and white fruits, then notes of vanilla and later of brioche.
On the palate: freshness and strength while pear and lemon tastes appear.
Finish : admirably vinous. The lingering aromas echo and re-echo, with each fruit or almond notes distinct.
