  • The construction of pairing with Moët Grand Vintage 2013 begins with the choice of mail element (meat, fish, vegetable etc.) which will provide substance in terms of texture and juiciness, to match the lightness of wine. This should be complemented with warm, toasted notes to echo the champagne's soft, inviting style. It will pair great with seared duck breast with caramelized pear.

With a bottle of champagne opened every second around the globe, Mo√ęt & Chandon knows that every second is an experience, and every experience is a #moetmoment to live, share and enjoy.

Every Grand Vintage is a reinvention, an affirmation of know-how,by the Chef de Cave to reveal each vintage's unique character.¬†Mo√ęt Grand Vintage 2013 is made with 41%Chardonnay, 38% Pinot Noir and 21% Pinot Meunier. The harvest in 2013 was late, in October, and the challenge was to achieve a maturity that complied with the standards in Champagne while also keeping the vines in perfect health.

Mo√ęt Grand Vintage 2013 has a light golden yellow colour with fine, persistent bubbles. The Champagne's maturity is immediately apparent, with autumnal notes of roasted chestnuts, toasted buckwheat, rich nuts, honey and nougat. White fruit is then revealed, reminiscent of mealy apple or beautifully ripe pear. Aromas of iodine, dried flowers and pine sap complete the bouquet. The palate is direct and energetic, supported by lively yet delicate acidity, and a finely chiselled structure, enveloped by a refined, grainy texture. The wine is finished by a pleasant hint of white grapefruit bitterness.
