Meneghetti Red is among the best local versions of the Bordeaux blend. It is refreshing to see someone taking this blend a little more seriously and adding to it the small, but important 5% cabernet franc, whose herbal charm will elevate this wine above the average native Bordeaux. A think and elegant wine with firm but well-balanced tannins and very interesting concentration, highlighted by intense ruby color with shades of purple. The smell of sour cherry and coffee, with hints of chocolate. Wine is intended for excellent aging.
