Cuvée 2003, from Château Carsin winery, like all other Millésimes was produced in a specific and excellent year when the grapes from old vines met the quality requirements for the production of the best wines. The wine is a result of a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc in a classic Bordeaux style. Following hand-picking, the grapes were fermented in small open barrels. Ageing process lasted minimum 12 months in oak barrels, of which approximately 30% were new ones. The wine from the best barrels was blended before bottling. This procedure and combination of wood gave the wine an elegant note of ripe red fruit such as cherries and plums, but also the aromas and spices of French oak. This mature wine still shows its excellent form. The color is intense, as well as fragrant and delicious aromas. Red fruitiness is still present, but abounds in tertiary aromas such as chocolate, pepper and leather.
Although this wine can be enjoyed on its own, we recommend pairing it with food to get the most out of it.
