Plavac mali is fond of the sun and the warmth - a true Dalmatian. The great advantage of the Kraljevski Vinogradi winery is their similarity to the Dingač appellation - southern exposure descending towards the sea and a rocky terrain. All these factors are important for the ripening of plavac as they bring more warmth to the vineyard - the stones radiate the warmth that accumulates during the day and the sea reflects some of the sun rays. It is important for quality plavac mali that the tannins ripen early enough to be soft and smooth, and the grapes still retain enough acid for good texture. These vineyards have all these prerequisites.
