Gitton
Established in 1945 with barely a hectare (2.5 acres) of vineyard, it now covers almost 60 ha (148 acres) in one of the best areas in the region. The vineyards are situated in different sites around the village of Ménétréol-sous-Sancerre. Pinot noir is grown on about 9 ha (22 acres), and Sauvignon blanc on the rest.
The winery is famous for its guiding principle, which is the respect for tradition.
As each vineyard has its own distinctive characteristics, maximum effort is put into separate vinification of each grape in order to preserve the most subtle qualities arising from certain varieties and soil types.
