Opus One
Opus One Winery is located in Oakville, California's Napa Valley.It was founded by Baron Philippe de Rothshild and Robert Mondavi, with a focus to create a unique California Bordeaux style blend, combining Old and New World wine styles. The first vintage that was released was 1979.
In 2004, the winery was bought by Constellation Brands. Today, the winery owns four vineyard plots, totally 70 hectares. The wine is aged for 18 months in new French oak barrels. Opus One is still one of the most expensive California wines.
