Quinta dos Carvalhais has established itself as a pioneer in the dissemination of the best varieties of Dão (Encruzado, Touriga Nacional), in the production of original wines (Branco Especial) and in the affirmation of truly exceptional wines (Único). A boutique brand which represents the very essence of the region, through the production of innovative and elegant wines, portraying its quality and authenticity.The estate is a true reference in Portuguese vitiviniculture, with a beautiful row of granite houses of typical “Serrano” style, and has a total area of 100ha, 54 of which used for growing vines. As for the planted area, white varieties - such as Encruzado, Gouveio, Sémillon and Field Blend – cover 61% of the area, with the remaining 39% reserved for the red - such as Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Alfrocheiro, Tinta Pinheira, Jaen and Field Blend.
