Dartigalongue

Since 1838, for 6 generations, the Dartigalongue family has been producing artisan Armagnacs in Nogaro, in the Bas-Armagnac region of France. This Armagnac house uses 3 white grape varieties for production – Ugni Blanc (for fruitiness), Bacco 22A (for structure and long-lasting taste), and Folle Blanche (for elegance and floral aromas). Eaux-de-vies from the Bas-Armagnac area, a region that has silty and sandy soils, are known for producing exquisite drinks.

Dartigalongue produces assemblages that have been since 1990 created by cellar master Ghislain Laffargue. For the last few years Benoit Hilton, company director and husband of Françoise Dartigalongue's niece is also involved in the production. Each blend is made by blending several complementary vintages, some of which bring fruitiness, some tannins, and some floral notes, all in order to achieve a balanced and complete assemblage. Since the 19th century, Dartigalongue has been producing and selling vintage Armagnac. The youngest vintage Armagnac in their cellar was aged for a minimum of 15 years in 400-liter oak barrels. The house currently has over 60 different vintages, the oldest of which is from 1848, which no other manufacturer has.

They have won numerous awards, and their Armagnacs can be found on the drink menus of restaurants with Michelin stars all over France and the world.
