Grabovac
The wine production in the family Grabovac has a long history. They have been producing wine since 1812, when Stipan Grabovac got the license for winemaking and wine selling. The family has started with a modern approach to wine-making since the early nineties, when Croatia shifted to a modern economy. In 1994 the family bottled their first commercial wines, which makes the winery a pioneer in Croatian wine production. In 1995, in the Podvornica vineyard, for the first time international varieties like Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay were planted. Today, the family owns 27 hectares of vineyards in the best locations around Imotski. In the vineyards are grown international as well as indigenous grape varieties. In 1997 the family opened a new, modern winery with a capacity of 1300 hL. Today, they have around ten wine labels made from internacional and domestic varieties like Plavac, Pošip, or Kujundžuša.
