Sontacchi Cabernet franc is a valuable addition to the small number of local wines that are made entirely from this variety. It is interesting that the vines used to make this wine are planted in the site of Venje, famous in our country for its soil quality and the exposition, which makes it even more intriguing. Pleasant on the nose, clearly representing cabernet franc from a warmer climate. After aging, it would be classified between Bordeaux, where it is used extensively, and e.g. Villany, where extracts were traditionally very high. On the palate there is a clear profile of cabernet franc reminiscent of dark berries and somewhat less reminiscent of herbal and vegetable aromas, which gives it a “savage”, somewhat wild character.
