Plenković

The Plenković family holding was founded in the early 1986. In 1991, they founded the Vitis company. However, in 1993, the name was changed to Zlatan otok (Golden Island), under which it is known today.

The vineyards are located on the southern slopes of the island of Hvar, where the Plavac Mali variety is dominant, and in the Makarska region at the foot of Biokovo, where a new vineyard was built in 2004 at an altitude of 30-400 m. The vineyards cover an area of 75 ha (185 acres) and consist of about 650,000 grapevines which are already starting to yield excellent results.

The assortment is as follows: Plavac Mali, Zinfandel, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah; while the white varieties are Pošip, Žilavka, Dubrovnik Malvasia, Chardonnay and Muscat.
