Škegro

Long ago, almost each and every household had a vineyard with Žilavka, Blatina and other indigenous grape varieties. The wines produced were kept in wooden barrels and used primarily for family purposes. The rulers and lords changed, wars were waged, and borders were altered, but the wine has been, and always will be part of the past, present and future of Herzegovina.

This is how the story of the Škegro family began, a story in which tradition is passed down for generations only to grow into a business in which the whole family truly enjoys and participates. A modern approach to tradition, a love for vineyards and wine, and a strong desire to offer and bring the spirit of Herzegovina to wine lovers in its full glory, are the main guidelines of the Škegro winery.

The karst of Herzegovina gives famous wines that have long been used for enjoyment and refreshment. A sunshine-filled climate, solid rocky terrain and a healthy ecological substrate, along with the centuries-old tradition, produce wines of premium quality.
