High in the hills above Ardbeg lies the gloomy and mysterious Lake Uigeadail (pronounced "Oog-dal"). The water from the lake is used to produce this premium whisky. It is a special blend of different Ardbeg styles, combining the traditional deep, smoky notes and sweet hints of old barrels once used to store sherry. Ardbeg Uigeadail does not go through cold filtration, which enables it to retain maximum flavor, and gives more fullness and depth, i.e. it retains the original taste from the barrel.

In 2009, Jim Murray Whisky Bible declared Uigeadail the "World Whisky of the Year" because of its "silky glow" and a "complexity on a level only a handful of distilleries in the world can even dream of reaching".

Its flavor is an intense symphony of smoke and a wonderful fruit cake.
