Checo Amarone della Valpolicella is dedicated to Francesco Damoli (the grandfather of tha family) who was known as „Checo dei Merli“ and who spent all of his life growing vineyard and producing excellent wines. This amazing wine is produced from the varieties Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella. After the late harvest by hand in October, the grapes were partially dryied for 100 – 120 days („appassimento“) to be more concentrated.  Slow fermentation for about 30-40 days in steel tanks followed, and then the ageing in small old french barrels for aprox.5 years.

Checo Amarone has a deep ruby red colour. On the nose is very intense, with cherry and prune aromas, with some freshly ground black pepper notes in the background. On the palate it is dry and warm, powerful but elegant, very complex, with polished tannins and notes of spices, coffee and cocoa. The finish is long and persistent, with lots of ripe red fruits flavours.
