Bodegas Escudero Rioja Crianza is a homage to Benito Escudero, grandfather of today's winery cellarman. It is a blend of 70% Tempranillo, 20% Mazuelo and 10% Garnacha, aged for 14 months. The grapes come from 60-year-old vineyards. The harvest is done manually. Follows the fermentation in stainless steel tanks with autochthonous yeasts. The wine is then aged in American and French oak barrels for at least 15 months, and afterwards for at least 10 months in a bottle in the cellar.
Bright ruby-red color. Clean and complex on the nose. fruity aromas well conjoined with hints of fine oak that stand out remarkably. Well-structured in the mouth, balanced and savory. With great character and long persistence. Complex and elegant aftertaste, red fruit aromas and hints of spices from aging in wood.
