La Grande Dame 2018 marks the 25th vintage since 1972, when the Veuve Clicquot champagne house launched its first prestige cuvée to celebrate its 200th anniversary.
La Grande Dame 2018 continues Madame Clicquot’s vision with its blend composed of 90% Pinot Noir and 10% Chardonnay, with all the grapes sourced from 8 historic Crus of Champagne. The year 2018 was exceptionally rich in sunshine and warm days, which was most evident in the Pinot Noir harvest. That year, the variety delivered outstanding results and an abundance of aromatic expression.
The champagne has a golden color with subtle green reflections. Its aromatic profile is rich, dominated by citrus notes of lime, beautifully balanced with floral aromas and hints of ripe pear and apple. As it evolves, it reveals spicy notes like ginger and tonka bean, along with pastry tones.
The 25th edition of La Grande Dame comes in a box of Veuve’s signature yellow color, tied with a black ribbon made from hemp – known as one of the strongest natural materials.
