Valdemar Blanco is actually a famous old cuvée of three varieties originally from Rueda. The difference is that the dominant variety in this cuvée is viura (macabeo), and not verdejo as in Rueda. Viura has a beautiful varietal signature; when it is made into a fresh one-year wine, the lovely pear aroma always comes to the front. This cuvée, just like the traditional one, is complemented by a sauvignon blanc and verdejo, which add herbal and floral notes.
