The new Veuve vintage 2002 pays tribute to Madame Clicquot and her visionary spirit. It is the 63rd vintage champagne of this house after the first one from 1810. At the same time, its release marked the 250th anniversary of the Veuve Clicquot.

This champagne is a real rarity, and it is only available in large formats.

As in other Veuve Clicquot releases, pinot noir dominates with 60% in the blend. The rest is made up of chardonnay (33%) and meunier (7%).

The year 2002 gave concentrated wines of excellent balance thanks to a mild winter, moderate rainfall and a warm, sunny summer.

Veuve vintage 2002 is light yellow in color with hints of gold. The aromatics is unique and rarely rich as a result of prolonged time spent on lees and only recent disgorgement. On the nose dominate citrus and stone fruits such as clementine, lemon and yellow plum. There is a hint of white pepper and the inevitable pastry notes as brioche, biscuits, milk and freshly baked bread.

In the mouth it is elegant, silky and mineral with aromas of salted caramel, toast and beeswax. It is complex and lively with a lingering finish.

This edition has all the characteristics of a classic and the potential to last for at least the next 15 years.
