The Friulano grape variety, which comes from the northeastern part of Italy, has often been mistaken for Sauvignon in history. That can be seen in other names of this variety. Some of them are Sauvignon vert and Sauvignonasse. The wines of the Friulano variety are full of citrus and floral aromas. A good example of that is the Friulano from the Borgo Conventi Winery. The wine is pale straw yellow in color with a gold reflection. On the nose, it is intense and complex, with primary aromas of alpine flowers, peaches and pears, followed by notes of almonds and honey. Fresh and well-balanced in the mouth, with a long-lasting finish.
