Chateau Cheval Blanc is a well-known winery in Bordeaux. This vintage from 2018 is one of many wines from this winery with numerous awards. This is a blend, characteristically for the right side of the river Dordogne, with Merlot in the lead, followed by Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Thanks to a sufficient amount of rainfall during the growth period and warm days during the ripening season, there were great conditions for rich grapes formation with a great balance of sugar and acidity. Deep ruby red in color, on the nose dominate floral and fruity aromas. A bouquet of violets, lilacs and rose petals is followed by aromas of raspberries, blackberries, dark cherries and black currant. Fruity and floral aromas are nicely rounded with notes of cocoa and black pepper. The wine is fresh, well-defined and complex on the nose. On the palate, it is powerful, rich tannins contribute to a rich, deep and well-balanced structure. A long-lasting, fresh and crunchy finish is marked by a return to the fruity and spicy notes.
