Prošek from Stina Winery is a traditional Dalmatian sweet wine. It was made by the traditional method out of two Dalmatian indigenous grape varieties, Pošip and Plavac Mali. Vinyards are situated along the coast, on a steep slope. The harvest is done by hand, later than usual, when the berries are overripe and dried. As these two varieties ripen at different times, two separate wines are produced. The first one, from Pošip, is characteristically sweet and fruity, and the second one, made from Plavac Mali, is full of the aromas of dark berry fruit and jammy notes. For half a year, these two wines age separately, and later they are blended in big wooden barrels where they mature for two more years. After the bottling, Prošek matures for six more months. Rich, creamy and sweet on the palate, with aromas of dried fruits, plum jam, sweet spices and vanilla.
