Krug Vintage 2011 uniquely reflects the year it was born in. A relatively challenging viticultural year shaped by a warm early spring followed by a cold snap and unfavorable conditions before harvest, nevertheless produced a remarkable vintage, distinguished by expressive aromatics and character, matured in the cellar for over ten years.

The blend consists of three grape varieties: 46% Pinot Noir, 37% Chardonnay, and 17% Pinot Meunier. Pinot Noir provides elegant structure and harmony, Chardonnay, affected by heatwaves, adds ripeness and roundness, while Meunier contributes freshness and a subtle bitterness.

Golden-yellow in color, with pure, almost crystalline reflections. On the nose, rich aromas of white peach and apricot intertwine with notes of star anise, citrus, delicate menthol nuances, and sweet spices such as liquorice and basil. The palate reveals layered aromatic complexity. Dominant are aromas of cooked fruit, caramelized and dried notes, marzipan, sugar, praline, honey, and hazelnuts, complemented by spicy hints of thyme and rosemary. The finish is precise, marked by a mineral-saline edge, a touch of grapefruit, and a note of sea salt. The pronounced minerality is supported by a subtle citrus extract influence, lending the champagne magnificent freshness and longevity.
