Tribidrag is one of the synonyms for crljenak kaštelanski, a potentially very important variety for local winemaking. Today, it is a lesser known story that the world-famous and beloved Californian zinfandel is actually our local, indigenous crljenak kaštelanski or, in this case, the Rizman winery’s Tribidrag. Tribidrag is a bit weaker in tannins, which makes it smoother and softer. Dark berries, sour cherries, blackberries and licorice are dominant. Sweet spices are not accentuated, but they contribute to the harmony. Good concentration and high maturity.
