The story of the Benvenuti winery is a story of family and tradition. The winery is situated in a quiet Istrian village of Kaldir, with a view of Motovun, while the vineyards consist of three indigenous varieties - Istrian malvazija, Teran and Muscat.
These are the foundations of the Benvenuti winemaking, in which the varieties reflect the wealth of the vineyards situated on a series of specific micro-locations. One of them, San Salvatore, has a terraced configuration and white soil, which, along with a specific microclimate, gives the grapes a certain character which is reflected in the wine’s pronounced minerality, freshness and full expression of all variety features. These features are present in all Benvenuti wines, from the basic and aged Malvazija, to the fresh and harmonious terrano, and the intense and pleasantly sour sweet wines.
Owing to the focus on micro-location and cultivating indigenous Istrian varieties, the Benvenuti wines have quickly become recognizable on the market, as well as in the industry.
