Caldierosso is a red cuvÃ©e of terrano, merlot, tempranillo and nebbiolo. Terran and nebbiolo give this unique and powerful wine the freshness and the tannins, tempranillo gives it density and dark color, while the softness of the merlot helps it blend into an ideal cuvÃ©e. Each variety is harvested and vinified separately, followed by a 10-day maceration and wine mixing, and a year long aging in large wooden barrels. Caldierosso is a wine of pronounced fruitiness, dominated by the aromas of violets, strawberries, raspberries, ripe dark fruit, which develop into spicy aromas reminiscent of oregano. Although it is a strong textured wine, it is also very smooth and soft in the mouth. The first batch of Caldierosso is from the 2015, and it won the silver medal at the Decanter Awards in 2017.
