Malvazija istarska (Istrian malvasia) is recognized today as the leading white variety from Istria and one of the key Croatian indigenous varieties. Even though it is a basic wine, it has a harmonious texture and a light body. The seductive tenderness of Benvenuti Malvazija is almost unparalleled. It is more successful than many wines, and hopefully it will withstand the test of time for at least the first two years in which it is best served. The terraced vineyards on the white soil of several sites where malvasia is grown are located at an altitude of 250-400 m.
