Le Commaraine is a 900-year-old location that still exists in its original dimensions and today is part of the Domaine Belleville winery, more precisely their dedicated wine monopoly line. After a period of thawing, the limestone left oxidizing minerals in the soil, thus creating a proportion of redness in the loamy soil, which was created for Pinot Noir. The winery produces exclusively wines from one plot, it is very terroir-oriented. It is very vivid, bright ruby in color, elegant and slightly spicy on the nose. The scents are reminiscent of red and black berries, and the finish is for the most refined palates and more complex varietal and tertiary notes predominate. The wine is co-signed by Comte Liger-Belair from Chateau Vosne-Romanee, whose wines are sold at ten times the price.
