Eymann Ménage à trois Toreye
Pfalz, Germany
Price: 22,67 €/L
We recommend it with soft and mild cheeses, or goats' milk ones. It goes well with lighter dishes based on chicken and vegetable salads.

With the somewhat provocative name, Ménage à trois, is a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Gris. The grapes come from specially selected locations of older vines with reduced yields. Blending was done already during the harvesting and pressing. Fermentation is spontaneous, in wooden barrels, and it is bottled without filtration. On the nose is a typical Burgundian style wine - citrus, green apple, wild herbs, but also with slightly warmer aromas of ripe stone fruit and tropical fruit such as papaya. There are notes of flint, almond and butter too. It is fresh, juicy, soft and very rounded in the mouth. Buttery aromas come to the fore even more, but also those of a wet stone and flint. Although the wooden barrels are used in production, it is beautifully integrated and the wine does not have too intense influence of the new oak. The wine is powerful, but very delicate and elegant.
