At an altitude level above 720 meters in northern Greece, the main Kir Yianni vineyards are located. On the specific block, named Bara, the Malagouisa variety is grown. These Kir Yianni vineyards are the highest and the northernmost point where the Malagousia variety can grow. Malagouisa from the Kir Yianni winery has a nice lemon yellow color. The harvest is done manually, and a malolactic and an alcoholic fermentation are done in stainless steel tanks, followed by maturation on fine lees and occasional batonnage for six months. On the nose, the wine is rich, elegant, and expressive. Floral notes of jasmine are nicely enriched by fruity notes of peaches and quinces. Crispy and harmonious on the palate with an elegant and long-lasting finish.
