Babić from the Pelješac winery Korta Katarina was created out of defiance, a desire for challenges, and the setting of new goals. In 2017, Korta planted 4,000 Babić vines at the Postup site, becoming the first winery on Pelješac to plant Babić there. Bathed in sun and sea, after harvesting and strict selection in the vineyard, the grapes undergo alcoholic and malolactic fermentation lasting twelve days in wooden vats, after which the wine is aged for twelve months in Hungarian oak barrels. The wine stands out for its deep, intense, and concentrated ruby-red color. Notes of dark berry fruit, wood, and tobacco dominate, while a spicy and slightly piquant aromatic profile adds intensity and character. The tannins are soft and velvety, complemented by a gentle, pleasant freshness. This is a wine in which harmony has been achieved between freshness, complexity, fullness of flavor, and length.
