Pošip The American was created as a dedication to the deep love and vision that the Andreson family (owners of Korta Katarina) developed towards Pelješac peninsula and Croatia.
The grapes for this Pošip come from the best locations of Čara (Korčula island), where after a manual harvest, a selection of the best grapes was made. After the cold maceration (up to 12 hours) followed the cold fermentation and maturation on lees in wood. The wine aged for 18 months in oak barrels.
The wine has a beautiful golden yellow color and an oily texture. From the glass first rise the lively aroma of citrus, which then shift to more ripe and complex aromas of baked apples and quinces, with background notes of vanilla and toasted bread. On the palate a rich, fruity character comes foward, with constant presence of freshness. The finish is long and complex, with notes of dried almonds and apricots.
Pošip The American comes in a limited series of only 1900 bottles. Enjoy now or cellar up to 4 years.
