Anyone familiar with Slovenian Pinot Noirs has surely heard of the Tilia winery from the Vipava Valley. This winery offers three Pinot Noir labels, now joined by a fourth one called Out of the Blue. This Pinot, bottled in just one thousand bottles, was created to celebrate ten years of Tilia's brand, House of Pinots.

In Slovenia, Pinot Noir is called modri pinot (blue pinot), which is one of the two reasons why the wine is named Out of the Blue. The second reason lies in the label design. Like previous Pinot Noirs, this one is bottled in Bordeaux-style bottles, which are then decorated using the shrinkable sleeve technique — the same method used in Champagne for designing bottles of special edition champagnes. Therefore, the bottle is "dressed" in a work by academic painter Azad Karim, created using oil on canvas. The dominant color of the illustration is blue.

Like Tilia’s previous Pinot Noirs, Out of the Blue, with its lovely ruby-red color, is rich in aromas of red berries. Notes of cherries, strawberries, raspberries, and sour cherries intertwine both on the nose and the palate. Pleasantly fresh, yet well-rounded, powerful, expressive, and long-lasting.
