Cloudy Bay Chardonnay

Described as ‘a chardonnay for connoisseurs’, this New Zeland Chardonnay is produced by a combination of the grapes from different vineyards, the ones from Wairau Velly (gravelly soil), and the others from Southern Valleys (clay soil). Blending grapes grown on the different soils, gives this wine a great balance of a ripeness and elegance. After pressing the juice is fermented in french oak barrels (of which 20% are new ones). Follows the malolactic fermentation and then ageeing for about eleven months in barrels.
Attractive on the nose, with notes of ripe lemons and white nectarine and subtile notes of vanilla from oak ageing. Vibrant on the palate, citrus frame is fulfilled with notes of a pear and a white nectarine, while the presence of an oak. Saline-fresh of a long and beguiling finish.
