Mas La Plana is a red wine made out of Cabernet Sauvignon grown in the vineyard of the same name in the Penedès area. The wine is aged in French oak barrels for eighteen months. Ruby red color that slowly transfers into a garnet. Rich and complex aromas of the wine are opening by aeration. First, aromas of dark berry fruits, like blueberries and blackberries, are present. Later, notes of dried plums followed by spicy aromas of ginger, cinnamon and cocoa. This rich and elegant wine is well-balanced on the palate, with velvety tannins and silky structure. A long-lasting and persistent finish.
The wine gained worldwide fame back in 1979, winning the Wine Olympics competition in Paris. Among wine connoisseurs is known as 'Spaniard', which would mean 'originally Spanish' in translation.
