Fantinel La Roncaia Eclisse

La Roncaia Eclisse is one of the most highly regarded and prestigious white cuvée labels from Fantinel’s La Roncaia collection, a true expression of the terroir and winemaking tradition of Friuli Colli Orientali. This elegant white blend is created by combining the expressive aromatics of Sauvignon Blanc with the complex, fruity structure of Picolit, an indigenous variety of the region and one of the most prized white grapes of northern Italy. The grapes are hand-harvested on the hills between Tarcento and Attimis, where the microclimate, low yields, and high-quality limestone-marl soils allow concentrated aromas and excellent balance. Part of the maceration and fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures, while another part is vinified in barrique oak barrels with extended lees contact, developing deep aromatic complexity and structure. After blending, the cuvée rests further in steel and in the bottle to achieve perfect harmony before release. In the glass, Eclisse captivates with an intense straw-yellow color and refined brilliance. The nose opens with a complex and aromatic bouquet, where the elegant floral and green notes of Sauvignon perfectly merge with the full, fruity highlights of Picolit. Subtle aromas of white peach, wildflowers, and green nuances create a rich and inviting aromatic profile. On the palate, the wine is dry and harmonious, with approachable freshness and pronounced minerality. The texture is full yet elegant, and the combination of vibrant freshness and mineral character gives Eclisse depth, balance, and a long, clean finish, leaving an impression of sophistication and perfect harmony.
