Le Larrey is a famous plot, mentioned in the history of Sancerre as early as 1777 as one of the best ones when it comes to sauvignon blanc. The oldest Gitton family vineyard is planted on the Hauterivian limestone, on the plot which sits on a 30% slope. The 2014 vintage won 94 points from the Gilbert & Gaillard Guide, the key guide to French wines in recent decades, and also received a recommendation at the IWC. The wine is accentuated on the nose with pronounced creamy notes, citrus and light tropical grapefruit aromas. The acids are young and accentuated, so the wine can also be stored in a personal collection, with the expected increase in the smell of smokiness.
