The part of the Istrian vineyards that is slowly being formed into a separate appeal is the Motovun vineyards, where both Valenta and Benvenuti wines come from. Tomaz Malvasia shows similarity to other Motovun Malvasias in prominent florality and mild aromas. Very clean fruity expression but muted, mild aroma of krenshaw melons. The vines are on white earth which gives a certain mineral signature to this wine. It is our humble opinion that Decanter’s recommendation that this wine has won is entirely deserved.
