The fruit for Chardonnay Didacus comes from the Ulmo Storico vineyard in Menfi and represents the family’s best vines of Chardonnay planted in 1985 near the lake at 220 to 230 meters in elevation. The wine is crafted carefully with hand-harvested grapes that are collected in crates, sorted twice on the table, pressed and fermented in barriques. Didacus Chardonnay is dedicated to Diego Planeta, the founder of Planeta winery.
Golden yellow in colour, It opens with notes of toast and melted butter, accompanied by wildflower honey, nectarine and golden apple. This is followed by mineral tones of gunpowder, herbs and white pepper. Soft and warm, full in structure, it denotes taste elegance and balance.
