A red Bordeaux blend can be found in both the old and the new wine world. This is neither accidental nor imposed. The varieties in red Bordeaux cuvée are very well-blended, while the vines grow well in most wine regions of the world. It is very interesting, therefore, to see how well the white Bordeaux cuvée does in the new conditions. Frenchie is exactly that. The name partly refers to the “typical†French wine and partly to the fact that Michel Roland, a Frenchman, worked as a wine consultant at the Saints Hills winery. Frenchie has a fuller, waxy texture in the mouth. A good ratio of sauvignon and sémillon is reflected in the aromas of stone fruit, viscosity, buttery notes, peach, pear, pineapple and also a flint-like minerality, grass, lemon peel and freshness.
