Planeta Chardonnay

Chardonnay 2024 from the Planeta winery is a special edition marking 30 years of this iconic wine, a symbol of modern change in Sicilian winemaking. Its uniqueness is further emphasized by a label featuring the artwork “On Fire” (2023) by the artistic collective Claire Fontaine, connecting the wine with contemporary art and reflections on the world around us.

Sourced from the Ulmo, Maroccoli, and Monte Cirami vineyards and cultivated using sustainable and organic practices, this Chardonnay reflects an exceptional terroir and meticulous vinification. Fermentation and aging in French oak lend it a refined structure and elegance.

In the glass, it displays a pale golden color, typical of the variety and oak aging. The bouquet is layered, revealing notes of ripe apricot, peach, grapefruit, oriental spices, and beeswax, supported by a subtle presence of fine wood. On the palate, it is fresh and well-balanced thanks to high-altitude vineyards, while the softness of the oak rounds it out, leading to an elegant, gently mineral finish.

Repeatedly awarded as one of Sicily’s finest Chardonnays, this wine is inspired by the style of white Burgundy, yet comes from a significantly warmer Mediterranean climate, giving it a distinctive character and expression.
